Board of Trustees Special Meeting on the Tentative Budget

Publication was made.
Mayor Letica opened up the meeting, Village Clerk Nancy Rittenhouse distributed the Tentative Budget for fiscal year end 5/31/2019.
Mayor Letica reviewed each of the tentative budget revenue and expense accounts. The tentative budget had a tentative tax rate increase of 0 .5%.
The Board discussed reducing the tax rate to a 0% flat tax rate.
Mayor Letica pointed out that we added $3000 to cover anticipated higher snow expenses and increased the unallocated contingent account by $5000.
Trustee Jablonski and Trustee Burke suggested that we keep the tentative budget at a 0% tax increase. The board, Village Clerk, Nancy Rittenhouse and Treasurer Emily Hayes reviewed all the revenue and expense line items. The decision was made by the Board to adjust the following accounts. Revenue line item (A1170.000) Franchise Fees was increased by $2000 to reflect franchise fees for next year. Expense line items (A1990.000) Contingent Account was decreased by $5000 and (A9040.800) Workers Compensation was decreased by $1000 to reflect the recent estimate from the State Insurance Fund.
The Board of Trustees all agreed that the noted adjustments be made resulting in a 0% tax increase for the fiscal year- end budget for 5/31/2019.
Village Clerk, Nancy Rittenhouse informed the board that the public hearing publication will be going out on Thursday, March 22, 2018 and that the budget will be available for public viewing by Friday, March 23, 2018. The Public Hearing is scheduled for April 3, 2018 at 6:30pm.
Mayor Letica made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Trustee Ettinger.
